I worked at a Pulitzer Price winning legit newspaper for 20 years in Arizona. Laid off 2009! I told the Publisher I loved being a photographer, I love the work but this job was like being in love with a women who doesn't love me back. It's nice to get some kind of acknowledgment that your work matters. Praise is one thing money was another. A photographer lives in a subjective medium that has no crossbar that declares your excellence. You can win awards but outside of journalism who cares. Photography is like wine either you like or you don't. To most people it doesn't matter how hard it was to make. Hang in there your work matters and your living the life. I hope your being compensated fairly. That helps the attitude.
Keep going, keep working. This is everything. Thanks Adam
So much in this letter I can identify too! Thank you for sharing Adam
In the end, photography is as worthy as anything that people do. So just keep doing it.
100 % keep rolling up those sleeves.
