I never thought a junk yard could be so beautiful. Everything came together nicely. That Mamiya 7II has gone crazy in value. It seems to be the desired analog medium format camera these days.
Adam, I'm thinking of the togs working in Ukraine right now. I guess you are torn between being there and pleased you are safe in Australia ? In a war zone, your gear needs to be reliable and light weight. Did you have a preference for lenses and bodies ?
Hi Robert, I don't cover much breaking news these days. Although I value the work being done in Ukraine right now by some very brave and talented individuals. When I have worked in combat situations, it's always been with a single body with a 35 mm lens.
I'm so happy you wrote this up! I was just looking at the Australia story (amazing) and got to wondering about equipment. The Pastor Simon Dixon photo has great depth, something not found in current 35 digital stuff. Beautiful work.
Thanks for the come back. Please you are not in Ukraine for many reasons. There so much going on in Australia without the threat of bombs. Although hardened togs line yourself seen to want to be there. I note Lyndsay Addario is there.hope she stays safe like the rest and it is over soon. Take care, I’m off on a trip to Tasmania to see what is happening there.
Great set up Adam. I love shooting Portra 400 at 200, just brings out so much detail.
Beautifully said mate. Your work is very emotive!

What's the air shutter release for? I tend to think of that for self-portraits.
Hi Karen, definitely self portraits, and occasionally collaborative portraits like I did here - https://adamferguson.substack.com/p/collaborative-portraits-with-migrants?s=w
